Camping Bakkum – Stable Internet in Nature

Camping Bakkum, part of Kennemer Duincampings (KDC), is both the oldest and largest campground in the Netherlands. The campground lies in the heart of a wooded and dune-rich environment and attracts thousands of vacationers annually. They offer a unique combination of natural tranquility and modern facilities, including exceptional new accommodations such as luxury beach cottages.

An excellent internet connection is essential for the modern vacationer, but the natural and sprawling location of the campground in the dunes made this difficult to achieve. The campground wanted not only to improve the current network but also had the absolute need to guarantee a stable connection in the 30 new, remote accommodations and the sauna building.

Cobra Systems was engaged to expand the previously installed fiber optic connection at the campground. The network was extended from the existing sanitary buildings and branched out to a total of 30 new beach cottages and the sauna building, with WiFi hardware installed everywhere.

Additionally, a branded WiFi Marketing Portal was chosen. This ensures a seamless login experience: guests simply scan a QR code with their phone camera to connect at lightning speed. Finally, Cobra Systems performed a comprehensive WiFi Health Check to guarantee optimal, trouble-free network performance.

The successful expansion of the fiber optic network provides high-quality, stable internet even in the most remote areas of the property. With working WiFi in 30 beach cottages and the sauna, plus a super-fast login process via the new portal, Camping Bakkum's digital Customer Journey has been significantly professionalized. Guests now enjoy their vacation worry-free with stable internet.

"Excellent WiFi at our campgrounds is essential, but the natural location made it challenging. Cobra Systems knows how to deliver WiFi even in the most remote areas. Plus, they think proactively about WiFi's added value for us and our guests. They're a great partner for us!"
